About GAURI KOHLI

GAURI KOHLI is a design house creating sculptural objects for the home in marble, onyx, travertine, brass, acacia wood, wool, jute and cotton. Founded in 2012, it is named for its designer, Gauri Kohli, who directs every form, material and finish. The work is material-first, and each material is handled on its own terms. Stone is cut so the variation is the design. Brass is left to age. Wool and cotton are chosen for weight and drape. Nothing is finished to imitate something it isn't. Pieces are shaped to hold a room quietly, and made to outlast the season they arrive in. Our collections are built as families. One form runs across a range of materials — a cake stand in white, green or black marble, travertine and onyx; a rug or throw in one weave across a tonal range. A tabletop, a bath counter or a floor can be composed from a single design in several finishes. Categories run across tabletop and barware, rugs, throws and pillow covers, bath, frames and sculptural objects — all on one palette. Orders ship from our U.S. inventory in 4–7 days, with the same finish and packaging from one order to the next. The assortment stays in place season to season, so a display that sells can be restocked, not rebuilt. Our retailers are design stores, interior boutiques, and independent shops that merchandise by material.Read their story
