About Hippie Hound Studios

Fun animal-themed art, decor & gifts — created with a whole lot of personality. Hippie Hound Studios grew from my lifelong love of two things: animals and art. My obsession with animals started at age two with my first dog, and it didn’t take long for me to discover what makes them so special — unconditional love, endless companionship, and plenty of personality. My love for art followed soon after. Born and raised in Western North Carolina, I studied Fine Art at Western Piedmont Community College and later Fine Art and Graphic Design at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. But like many artists, I worried about turning creativity into a career, so I took a different path and spent 17 rewarding years working in Occupational Therapy with children with special needs. In 2015, a life-changing family event reminded me just how short life can be. I finally took the leap and combined my love of animals and art to create Hippie Hound Studios. Today, Hippie Hound Studios has become a true mother-daughter business. My 'bonus' daughter, Allison, now runs the day-to-day side of the shop, while I continue doing what I love most — creating and designing the fun, personality-filled animal artwork behind our products. Together, we create cheerful gifts and décor designed to make people smile — from dogs and cats to farm animals and everything in between. Original art. A family-run business.
