About Heyward House

Heyward House began in 2018 as a family business inspired by our love for classic children’s clothing and the belief that beautiful clothes should still be made for childhood. As parents, we wanted pieces that felt timeless and special but were comfortable enough for our children to live and play in. We loved the traditional styles we grew up with, but wanted to give them a fresh perspective through original prints, beautiful colors and thoughtful details. That idea became the foundation of Heyward House and what we call Prim & Proper Playwear™. From our home in North Carolina, we design each collection with childhood in mind. Our signature prints and classic silhouettes are brought to life in Peru using exceptionally soft Peruvian Pima cotton, creating pieces meant to be worn, loved and passed down. What started as a small idea has grown far beyond what we imagined. Today, Heyward House can be found in independent boutiques across the country, thanks to retailers who believed in our brand and introduced it to families in their communities. We are still a family-run business, with real people behind every collection, order and relationship we build. We know how much heart goes into an independent shop because we have poured that same heart into Heyward House. Our goal is simple: to create clothing special enough for life’s sweetest moments and comfortable enough for all the childhood in between.
