About GRIT Soap Supply

Hi, I’m Anthony Smeraglia, and my wife Natalie and I own and operate Forage Farmstead, home to our three brands: GRIT, GRACE, and TALLOW. We were both born and raised in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, but always felt pulled toward a slower, simpler life in the country. We wanted a place where we could work with our hands, pursue the things we loved, and give our kids a simpler way of growing up. Over 10 years ago, we moved our family to the small town of Wilsonville and dove headfirst into farm life. Today, our farm is home to cows, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, a cat, our family, and usually a whole lot of chaos. Somewhere along the way, we found exactly what we had been looking for. This is home. For the past 8 years, we’ve been making products right here in Alabama. GRIT is the men’s side of Forage Farmstead, created for hardworking men who appreciate straightforward, quality bath and body products. We focus on thoughtfully made products using naturally derived ingredients and leaving out unnecessary harsh chemicals whenever possible. In a world where so much is processed, uniform, and mass-produced, we want to be a breath of fresh air. We still believe craftsmanship matters. We want to make good products, make them well, and create things we’re proud to put our family’s name on. From our farm to your home, welcome to GRIT.Read their story
