About MOTHER shrub
As a child, Meredyth Archer would drink a sweetened vinegar with her grandmother, who thought it was the answer to everything. Years later, she came across a recipe for a raspberry fruit vinegar, or shrub, in a family cookbook from the late 1800s, a hand-me-down. She remembered the tart and sweet taste from her youth and decided to make a batch. Many shared batches later, MOTHER shrub drinking vinegars was born. Five-time award-winning shrubs handcrafted in Richmond, VA, in an allergen free facility, using combinations of thoughtfully sourced organic, fresh and non-gmo ingredients.

Mother Shrub has been one of my favorite additions to the shop. I absolutely love everything about these drinking vinegars—from the beautiful packaging to the thoughtful, delicious flavors—and our customers do too. They make wonderful mocktails, are perfect for everyday sipping, and the gift sets have been especially well received. I'm originally from Virginia, so it feels especially meaningful to have a taste of home while supporting another independent business. Thank you!
