About The Art of Pecan

The Art of Pecan was founded in 2017 by Wendy Cunningham with a simple mission: to create the most delicious and nutritious pecans possible. Unlike conventional roasted nuts, our pecans are "activated" using a traditional process that begins with soaking the pecans in purified rain water and mineral-rich sea salt. They are then slowly dehydrated at low temperatures to create a light, crisp texture while preserving the pecan's naturally rich flavor. Many people choose activated nuts because the soaking process helps reduce naturally occurring compounds such as phytic acid, which can bind to minerals. The result is a pecan that is easier to digest for many people and delivers a clean, satisfying crunch without roasting. We source premium Texas pecans and craft every batch with simple ingredients and meticulous attention to quality. Our Activated Pecans are available in Maple, Sea Salt, Cinnamon, and Bourbon flavors, each made with minimal ingredients and just 1 gram of added sugar per serving. What started as a passion for wholesome food has grown into an award-winning brand. The Art of Pecan has earned multiple Good Food Awards, a Sofi gold and has become one of the top-selling pecan brands in its category at Whole Foods Market. As a woman-owned, family-run business, we are proud to share a better pecan—one that honors tradition, celebrates exceptional ingredients, and delivers extraordinary flavor in every bite.
