About Junkyard Goddess

I think I was raised to be a Junkyard Goddess long before I knew what one was. I grew up in Oklahoma with a fearless, motorcycle-riding mother named Donelda, who broke the rules in an era when women weren't supposed to. She taught me that imagination, determination, and a little attitude could take you just about anywhere. We didn't have much money, but we had creativity. We rescued an enormous wooden cable spool, painted it wild colors, and turned it into our kitchen table. We weren't following a trend. We were making something wonderful out of what we had. Years later, while selling rescued furniture on Etsy, I discovered milk paint. I loved its unpredictability and freedom, but wanted vibrant colors that didn't exist. So I began experimenting at my kitchen counter. After years of trial and error, I refined my formula into a smooth, creamy paint with beautiful coverage and improved adhesion. And I listened to retailers. Every milk paint box now has a front-facing label showing its color and name. Handles can stand upright or tuck inside, creating flat, stackable boxes ready for your shelves. Junkyard Goddess makes small-batch milk paints, hemp waxes, oils, and creative finishes for rule breakers, dreamers, and anyone who sees possibility where others see junk. Beauty doesn't require a big budget. Creativity doesn't need rules. I'm not just selling paint. I'm selling freedom. Defy the Ordinary. Unleash Your Inner Artist. — Michelle Dolon, Founder Read their story
