About Design Africa
Design Africa designs and imports elegant, rustic, generously spacious handwoven totes and satchels made of sustainable materials by the women and men of Kenya. The sisal totes are handwoven by women and the all leather handles are hand sewn by men. These large, roomy, unique totes are a community effort from north of Nairobi to Mombasa, sustaining families and, in some cases, whole villages. Hot sellers spring and summer, these totes are also big sellers at Christmas for the woman who enjoys an unusual, beautiful, and unexpectedly surprising gift.
