About lumiies - high visibility
NEON IS THE NEW BLACK lumiies® is a design brand for dog clothing and accessories from Hamburg, founded in 2023 by sisters Marion and Kerstin Käfer. The occasion was Severin, our Saluki male. He is still our best product tester. In our studio in Hamburg everything revolves around shape and color for dogs. We work with neon shades and bold color combinations because they create contrast: with the grey of everyday life, with wet asphalt, with the dusk of winter. Neon colors stand out clearly from the background in daylight and at dusk. They are not reflective and do not emit light themselves. Our knitwear collection is made from a performance yarn that we developed together with textile engineers for lumiies: elastic, warming and dimensionally stable. Production takes place in premium manufactories that among other things produce clothing and home textiles for babies and toddlers. Since our founding in 2023 we sell in 19 countries, online and through specialist retailers. We presented our first collection in 2024 at Interzoo in Nuremberg. Awards: Best Newcomer of the Year 2025 (pet industry), Best Innovation New@Anido 2026, third place in the Interzoo Fresh Ideas Award, nominated for the Hessian Founders’ Prize (category Innovative Business Idea), Top 10 of Germany’s most creative start-ups. Featured in VOGUE, Vanity Fair, Jolie, RTL, Sat.1 and hr1.
