About Cork By Design

Where Culture Meets Craftsmanship. Founded by Eloi Mota, an Australian designer with proud Portuguese heritage, Cork By Design is inspired by two places that have shaped his life - Portugal and Australia. What began as a desire to share the beauty of Portuguese products with Australia soon became a passion for cork - a remarkable natural material that reflects generations of Portuguese craftsmanship. Today, every handbag and accessory is meticulously handcrafted in Eloi's Sydney home studio using premium Portuguese cork. Blending timeless craftsmanship with contemporary Australian design, each piece is created to be lightweight, durable and beautifully different. More than a collection of handbags, Cork By Design celebrates the meeting of two cultures and a shared appreciation for thoughtful design, quality materials and craftsmanship that stands the test of time. 💚 Born in Portugal. Crafted in Australia. Read their story
