Named after the international dialing code for Buenos Aires-Argentina, 5411 Empanadas started baking in 2009, when the three founders decided they wanted to bring a piece of their country to Chicago. It started small, very small, but a good product and word-of-mouth made our dream grow from just deliveries to one of the most successful food trucks and store fronts in the country. In 2012 we opened our first permanent location in Chicago’s Clark St. and we have been lucky enough to keep growing since then. In 2020 we kicked off our BAKE AT HOME service, where we started shipping frozen empanadas nationwide, along with the option to sign up to our monthly subscription. We make our empanadas from scratch --the dough and hand-made fillings-- at our main store in Chicago. Having a USDA-certified operation allows us to ship nationally, so we are now ready to partner with great retailers, coffee shops, and gourmet markets to bring our much-loved empanadas across the U.S.Read their story
