About Rufus Teague

The Rufus Teague story began years ago when a Kansas City man’s passion for authentic KC-style barbecue turned into a quest for the very best. As he perfected his craft, he earned a reputation as a Midwest BBQ master, generously sharing his slow-smoked creations with friends and family. As memorable as the barbecue was, it was the sauce people couldn't stop talking about. Over the years, his sauces earned top honors at some of the nation's most respected BBQ competitions. Before long, he found himself making sauce all the time. Born from that passion, Rufus Teague has grown into a legend of its own. Founder John McCone insists that every product be made with the finest ingredients and deliver the bold, authentic flavor that built the brand. What started with one thick, rich, honey-sweet barbecue sauce has grown into a full lineup of Non-GMO, gluten-free, all-natural barbecue sauces, steak sauces, dry rubs, and now snacks, and even smoke-roasted coffees. Because Rufus insists everything not just be good, but Stupid Good! Read their story
