About Lingo Playing Cards
I started Lingo after backpacking through Central America and realizing there was no fun, easy way to pick up the local language. One afternoon in El Salvador, I scribbled Spanish phrases from my pocket notebook onto the playing cards we shuffled every day over sunset cerveza. When a card game actually started teaching us Spanish, I knew the idea was too good to keep to ourselves. I bootstrapped Lingo from that moment into a global brand — designed in Australia, shipped worldwide, and now stocked in stores across 10+ countries. We're a small, independent company. No investors, no corporate parent. Just great cards that sell themselves. 50+ decks across languages, slang, street food, wellness, and an official collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
