About Balakata

BALAKATA comes from the combination of design with the recovery of old techniques. It's a return to quality, handmade products that last a lifetime. Enjoy the pure materials, textures and imperfections of manual work, which enhance the beauty of each piece. Every culture is one source of inspiration based on respect for the environment and the people involved in each part of the process. The luxury of craftsmanship. BALAKATA is the name given to a plant that grows in India, among other countries. A name that takes us to nature, and a country where we saw the birth of our project... and last but not least, pronouncing it reminds us of the noise of the looms on which many of our fabrics are made. We create products for the home and lifestyle that are handmade with care. We are fortunate to work with artisans who share their talent, enthusiasm and patience, helping to create products from timeless design with traditional skills and natural materials. The relationship between an artisan and a beautiful handmade piece creates a story, which means that each product is not a mass-market item, but rather an individually made piece. We value this ancient knowledge and hope to help keep it alive. We love the character of each item, the handmade nature of our products is what we believe sets us apart. We want to protect these abilities. Read their story
