About FIRE + FOLK
Hi! I'm Heather (she/her), founder of FIRE + FOLK. I’m an LGBTQ+ disabled candlemaker in Portland, OR, and I have been handcrafting vegan, non-toxic soy candles for over a decade. I hope to bring a little PNW magic into every home through beautifully scented candlelight while sparking cozy moments of warmth, joy, and connection. I'm also an intersectional activist and donate $1 from every candle sold to local orgs that uplift my community. My custom-blended fragrances are rooted in nature and inspired by life in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I personally handcraft every candle in my tiny home studio using 100% pure, locally sourced soy wax, essential oils, non-toxic fragrance oils, FSC-certified crackling wood wicks, and recycled and sustainable vessels. I also handcraft our organic shea body butters. Disabled with multiple autoimmune and neurological disorders, it's important to me that the products I create are safe, clean, and free of phthalates, parabens, and other toxins. One of my favorite things in my work is getting to build relationships with more than 30 regular stockists across the PNW and around the country! As the previous owner of a successful brick-and-mortar retail shop for 3 years, I understand both sides of wholesale, and I'm here to collaborate and to be of service however I can be. Thank you so much for supporting my small, handcrafted business! I love my retailers so much! keep shining, Heather hello@fireandfolk.com
